This house, surrounded by the Golf Club Encinos, is the result of balancing the requirements of the client, the ecological conditions and the regulations of the area. The material used contrasts the private area made of wood against the public area made of concrete. The upper floor (private) is an iconic, compact and functional block with a slanted roof with two sides. The lower floor (public) is completely open and composed of dividing concrete walls.
Surrounded by a forest, the House was born from the balance between the wishes of the customer, the bioclimatic requirements and regulations of the area. Located in the Encinos golf club is a House of contrasts, on one hand the first level eliminates the barrier between interior and exterior opening itself South by large Windows facing the golf courses.
The loss of heat through these surfaces is compensated by concrete walls which act as mass heat to maintain a comfortable temperature inside. Contrary to this, the upper floor is solved by a sealed wooden box with a sloping roof covered by clay tiles allowing the continuity of the immediate context and in a contemporary manner respecting the regulations of the golf club.
The contrast between public and private is accentuated with a palette of materials surrounding these same poles (concrete - wood) these two materials are prevalent throughout the House.
